Description
The 3 cm starter rail connector is a joint plate designed to connect starter profiles on externally insulated façades. It ensures both the alignment of the rails and provides an expansion joint to accommodate dimensional changes caused by temperature variations. Packaged in bags of 100 units, this connector facilitates the rapid fitting of a complete set of starter rails on a building site.

The 3 cm start rail connector, reference 175.030, is an essential accessory for installing start profiles in external thermal insulation systems. It enables two lengths of rail to be joined effectively whilst allowing for the natural expansion of the profiles subject to temperature fluctuations. Without this type of connector, a rigid joint between two starter rails could lead to deformation or the profiles becoming dislodged over the course of the seasons, compromising the alignment of the first row of insulation boards and, by extension, the aesthetic quality of the entire façade. This connector also allows for the correction of minor alignment differences between two consecutive lengths of rail, ensuring a perfectly uniform starting base along the entire length of the treated façade. Suitable for 3 cm wide starter profiles, it is simply positioned inside the rail at each joint before the profiles are permanently mechanically fixed to the façade substrate. Packaged in bags of 100 units, this connector enables large-scale construction sites to be supplied quickly. Facade contractors and external thermal insulation contractors will find this a reliable solution for ensuring the durability and quality of the base for their external thermal insulation systems, in both new-build and energy-efficient refurbishment projects.
This connector provides an essential expansion joint between two sections of starting rail. Never omit it on a long run; temperature variations will always eventually have an effect on a rail that is not divided into sections.

The connector provides an expansion joint between two lengths of track, absorbing movement in the substrate, whereas a rigid joint without a connector is likely to become distorted due to temperature variations.

Expansion joint Yes, integrated None
Risk of rail deformation Reduced Higher over time
Alignment between rails Corrected if necessary Depends on the initial installation
