Description

Fassa’s RX 561 Pastel 1.5 mm is a paste-based finishing coat made from acrylic copolymers and polysiloxanes, supplied in 25 kg buckets. Ready to use, it is applied with a trowel to façades to provide a rustic, decorative and protective finish, whether on traditional lime-cement render or on the FASSATHERM external thermal insulation system (ETIS). Its pastel base can be tinted using the ColorLife tinting system, allowing you to achieve the desired colour for your project. The product incorporates protection against the growth of algae and mould, good water vapour permeability and low absorption of liquid water, ensuring the façade is durably protected from the elements.

A rustic finish that protects your façade for years to come

RX 561 Pastel 1.5 mm, supplied in 25 kg tubs, is a compact acrylic-siloxane finish coating manufactured by Fassa Bortolo, designed for the decoration and protection of façades. Its 1.5 mm grain size gives surfaces a rustic appearance that is highly sought-after in both renovation and new-build projects, and its pastel base can be easily tinted using the ColorLife tinting system to suit any façade project. This paste-based coating combines acrylic copolymers and special polysiloxanes in an aqueous emulsion with selected aggregates, titanium dioxide and microfibres. This formulation ensures good workability during application as well as reliable adhesion to lime-cement-based base coats, properly prepared concrete and reinforced skim coats. The product also incorporates protection against the growth of algae and mould, an important benefit for the long-term aesthetic integrity of the façade. In terms of performance, RX 561 has a density of 1.80 kg/l, a water vapour permeability rating of Class V2 and a liquid water absorption rating of Class W3, ensuring a façade that breathes whilst effectively resisting rain. Its reaction to fire is classified as A2-s1,d0 and its VOC content remains below 40 g/l, in accordance with current environmental requirements. It also holds a European Technical Approval (ETA) for particle sizes of 1 mm and above, authorising its use on FASSATHERM external thermal insulation systems. This coating is designed for façade contractors, external thermal insulation contractors and building tradespeople seeking a durable decorative finish that complies with current DTU standards, for both energy-efficient renovation projects and new-builds. Applying it first with a metal trowel and then with a plastic trowel produces a uniform and attractive finish, whilst ensuring effective protection of the façade against the elements.

The fine grain size of RX 561 makes it easier to achieve a smooth, even finish, which is particularly appreciated on large façade surfaces. Always work in complete strips to avoid visible joints; a thin render is less forgiving of touch-ups than a thick one.
