Description
The SPIRAL helical anchor is a fixing designed to be screwed directly into the rigid insulation of external thermal insulation systems (ETIS), without the need for pre-drilling. Its 85 mm length allows it to secure lightweight items such as letterboxes, outdoor lighting or house numbers. Its spiral design ensures a secure hold in the insulation whilst minimising the thermal bridge created by the fixing, providing a quick and cost-effective solution for low-load accessories on façades.
Technical specifications
Fixing lightweight fittings to external thermal insulation cladding (ITE)
Letterboxes, outdoor lighting, doorbells
Rainwater downpipes
House numbers, nameplates
Energy-efficient refurbishment
New-build construction

The SPIRAL helical anchor, 85 mm long, is a lightweight fastener designed to be screwed directly into rigid insulation boards used in external thermal insulation systems. Its spiral design allows it to anchor itself in the insulation without the need for pre-drilling in most cases, which considerably simplifies its installation. This anchor is particularly suitable for fixing lightweight elements to façades, such as letterboxes, outdoor lighting, motion detectors, doorbells or house numbers, directly onto the surface of the insulation, whether rendered or un-rendered. Its specific design slightly compresses the insulation material when screwed in, ensuring a reliable mechanical hold for light loads, without compromising the thermal performance of the external thermal insulation system (ETIS) thanks to a surface-mounted fixing that minimises thermal bridges. Installation, carried out simply by hand-screwing, requires no specialist tools, making it a quick solution to implement on site. Additional waterproofing at the fixing point is recommended to prevent any water ingress into the insulation. Facade contractors and installers of facade fittings will find this helical anchor to be a cost-effective and quick solution for fitting lightweight components to externally insulated facades, without compromising the integrity of the external thermal insulation system.
Suitable for very light loads (letterboxes, lighting), this spiral anchor must never be subjected to loads exceeding its specified capacity. For anything slightly heavier, it is best to provide an anchor point in the load-bearing structure.
Products in the same category:
In most cases, the helical anchor is screwed directly into the insulation without the need for pre-drilling, whereas a conventional hammer-in anchor requires pre-drilling and is not designed to be anchored in the insulation alone.
The SPIRAL 85 mm helical anchor versus a conventional hammer-in anchor
Pre-drilling required No, in most cases Yes
Anchoring: Screwed into the insulation; into the load-bearing substrate
Load capacity: Low (lightweight fittings); higher depending on the model
Speed of installation: Very quick; longer (drilling required)
